Introducing our first Red Bourbon (there is no alcohol in this, its just the name) blend with Rwanda Nova and Brazil Cerrado. Its bright fruity acidity notes creates the perfect balance with a little more chocolate, nutty notes from our Brazil beans.

Located close to Lake Muhazi, at an altitude of 1800-2000 meters above sea level, Nova Coffee was founded by Agnes and her husband Felix in 2015. Today Nova processes its own coffee from their own 155 hectare plantation along with the coffee from over 2,800 small-holder coffee farmers. Nova takes great care to implement socially, ethically, and environmentally responsible practices.

Through their “Ikawa-Sawa Project”, the company works with the surrounding community to support beekeeping projects and sustainable farming initiatives, as well as distributing young coffee trees to new farmers. Through the project, over 30,000 young coffee trees have been distributed to surrounding households since 2020. Nova Coffee strongly believes in gender equality and the support of women farmers, and Agnes is committed to bringing recognition to the role women play not only in Rwandan coffee but also to their role in building the future of Rwanda.

Nova works closely with their women farmers to help them purchase land to grow coffee as well as providing the training and support such as providing fertilizers to take care of the coffee plants and assistance with loans. Nova Coffee has recently started construction on an early childhood centre. This facility will provide childcare for young children, ensuring their mothers can work at the washing station with peace of mind. The quality of Nova Coffee was showcased as it took first place at the Best of Rwanda 2024 coffee competition.
